Mission :

Our client is a growing company in the Solar Photovoltaic industry. They are looking for a Managing Director to ensure their expansion in Germany by identifying and securing business development opportunities, by delivering on the asset construction and by managing the assets subsequently. 

Main Responsibilities :

Strategy activities

  • Ensure design of the country strategy road map and of the strategic road map towards surrounding countries (to be validated by the Group CEO)
  • Ensure its implementation
  • Draft the 5-year strategic / medium term plan to be validated by the Group CEO
  • Draft the country annual budget forecast to be validated by the Group CEO
  • Manage country P&L in line with business model deployed in the country
  • Ensure strategy is transformed into business origination and asset development actions for the country
  • Follow-up market and regulatory intelligence for the country to assess possible risks/opportunities for the business
  • Manage risks for the country: identify main risks, associated KPIs and ways to mitigate them (land negotiations, complex offering negotiation, EPC transaction, etc.)

 

Business Origination

  • Ensure preparation, follow-up, negotiation and closing of all SPV agreements in coordination with the Headquarter support functions (SPV PM,…)
  • Coordinate with HQ Business Origination for bids preparation, project acquisition and PPA negotiation
  • Prepare and present Advance Notice and Investment Note to HQ

 

Asset Development

  • Manage and supervise development process from green field stage to COD to ensure project delivery as per budget and MTP
  • Be accountable vis a vis corporate for the implementation of the tools and reporting provided by HQ SPV PM, regarding the follow up of planning, costing, risk analysis, and development costs reporting

 

Asset construction

  • Manage and supervise the EPC activities for the projects falling under the country scope
  • Participate to the local entity contracts along with the Corporate Procurement Team
  • Identify local equipment and service providers for inclusion in the Operations team qualification process
  • Ensure detailed reporting to HQ on project status (planning, cost & cash)
  • Ensure the compliance of local project with Group Project Management rules most specifically in terms of : quality, health & safety, environmental management, ethics, costing, planning, risk, document management

 

Asset Financing (debt and equity)

  • Manage, jointly with the HQ CIO, the financing of the projects (debt and equity) with regards to the local investors, bankers and investment bankers (sharing information, etc.)
  • Ensure project bankability through the coordination of the various departments (operations, supply, financing,…)

 

Asset Service

  • Ensure that the Asset Service SLA with SPV is executed with higher than expected performances

 

Corporate activities

  • HR, Compliance with various HQ reporting and fiduciary / governance rules applicable to the subsidiary
  • Coordinate with HQ the preparation / review of legal documents and contracts

Profil :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the energy industry or in an EPC company
  • Excellent knowledge of the Germany’s culture
  • High technical expertise and credibility in front of customers and regulators/authorities
  • Experience in business development, project management and finance
  • Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Management skills
  • Ability to stretch much beyond one’s own set of role, proactively
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, keen on transparency, strong technical knowledge and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Proven track record of being highly effective in evolving business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and interact effectively with cross-functional employees of an organization
  • Process-driven with strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects while prioritizing overlapping requests
